Shiatsu and Shamans: A Journey Into Healing

My Practice

I like to consider myself a "Healing Consultant" and in my practice I employ Zen Shiatsu and Shamanism to assist people in helping their bodies, mind and spirit heal. Our bodies are always trying to maintain an optimal state of health. However, due to unhealthy lifestyles, trauma, wrong treatment, a toxic world, stress, unhealthy thoughts, our bodies, mind and spirit need assistance.

I spend a great deal of time and effort researching why some people get ill and others do not as well as why some people heal while others do not. My experience in western as well as ancient systems of health care enable me to walk the line between both systems and to develop, with the client's goals in mind, a "health" prescription.

If you have a serious or chronic health problem, I prefer that you initially see a physician or psychotherapist. If you wish, I will explain to them my treatment modality and we can both help you reach the healing state you desire. 

In shamanism, we employ four different healing modalities:

• The Illumination Process - this core healing practice is used for clearing malignant physical and emotional imprints from the luminous energy field and allows us to rewrite the blueprint of our life.

• The Extraction Process - this process removes toxic energies that have crystallized and are imbedded within the body or intrusive energies or entities that are imbedded within our central nervous system. These energies can be the result of emotions directed at us by other people, energetic remnants from former lifetimes, or disincarnate spirits trapped between this world and the next.

• Soul Retrieval - the soul retrieval process is a journey to the lower world to retrieve that lost part of the soul that that has resulted in emotional distress or physical illness. When this is done, we can acknowledge and heal the lost soul parts and integrate them back into our being. One or two soul retrieval sessions can often accomplish what takes years of psychotherapy to realize, if ever.

• Rites of Passage (Death Rites) - The Death Rites assist the dying person in returning to infinity. They consist of three steps: recapitulation and forgiveness, granting permission to die and the final rites.

Zen Shiatsu sessions are 1,500 Taka ($22 USD) and last an hour or more. Shamanic treatment is free as I'm in training.

Sessions are held in a treatment room at my home. Wear loose comfortable clothing and socks for Zen Shiatsu. Please no perfume or synthetic fabrics!

Randall (Randy) Sexton is a registered nurse, Zen Shiatsu therapist and shaman trainee.

Randy holds a B.S.N. from Excelsior College, an M.S.N. from Northwestern State University, an M.B.A. from Centenary College and has held clinical, management, and educational health care positions since 1975. He trained in Zen Shiatsu (five years under Pamela Ferguson) at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas where he was a senior instructor and practitioner of Zen Shiatsu. He is also a Diplomate in Asian Bodywork from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Randy is a student in Shamanism at the Four Winds Society. He has also studied shamanism with Rivers Sterling and continues to do so with Peruvian Shaman Elena Radford.
